Wild Plant Walk on the Palmer River

October 5, 2019 @ 10:00 am - 12:30 pm

Location: Warren

Join The Warren Land Conservation Trust and longtime Rhode Island Wild Plant Society member and naturalist Garry Plunkett for a guided walk through the varied habitats of Haile Farm Preserve, including 60 acres of salt marsh, meadow and forest along the Palmer River!

Garry, a steward of Tiverton’s preserved forests for 25 years, will show us how to identify some of the stars of the tidal marshland, the red maple swamp, and the oak/beech forest. Learn to recognize the preserve’s tree species, the various ferns carpeting the forest floor, and so much more! The vistas from the marsh are spectacular, the bird life varied – and grasses and leaves will be turning color.

This event is free and suitable for all ages. Leashed dogs welcome. Limited to 20 participants. RSVP ahead of time to raverview@me.com to reserve your spot!

In the event of rain/bad weather, check The Warren Land Conservation Trust Facebook page for updates.
