Arcadia Hemlock Ledges Vista #OptOutside
November 24, 2017 @ 10:00 am - 1:00 pm
Due to the high level of interest in land trust walks on Thanksgiving weekend, please assist us in planning for these walks, by changing your Facebook status to ‘going’ as soon as your plans to attend are set. Thank you! Rhode Island Land Trusts
The RI Land Trust Council is hosting this walk for all ages to #OptOutside. We will walk on the Tippecansett Trail along the shoreline of Beach Pond to a high rock vista overlooking the pond. Then head west towards the state line and loop back on the Hemlock Ledges Trail and on an unnamed trail to the parking area
The 3 mile walk will be on trails that may be a bit muddy, rocky, steep or with tree roots, and rock stepping across streams, so wear sturdy shoes at the least. Leashed, well behaved and friendly dogs are welcome. . This is state land and it is hunting season so everyone must wear an orange hat or vest. Though the area we will be walking is not a popular place to hunt.
Directions: The Arcadia Hemlock Ledges Vista Beach Pond parking area is located near CT/RI state line on Route 165. (West of 2898 Ten Rod Road). From I-95 Exit 5A, to Route 102 south then Route 3 south for 1 mile. Turn right (west) onto Route 165 (Ten Rod Rd) at the pizza shop and go 7 miles to Beach Pond. Parking areas are on both sides of the road. The walk will leave from the smaller parking area in the woods on the south side of the road. N41.57405 W71.78551
