Rhode Island Land Trust Days will return next year with a wide range of outdoor, family friendly, and free activities right in your backyard!
No need to wait for Land Trust Days to get outdoors and take walks in nature. Taking walks is even more important during the COVID-19 pandemic. Spending time outdoors in nature will give you respite from stress, anxiety, and cabin fever… and it helps keep you healthy!
Take DIY - “Do it Yourself” - walks and hikes with your friends and family! ExploreRI.org can help you find trails to walk, with trail maps and directions to dozens of places where you can walk. The website lets you search trails to find those that best fit your interests and abilities (location, difficulty, dog friendly, etc). Check out RIWalks - a new website where you can sign up to set goals for spending time outdoors, keep track of your walks, rate trails, and log what you see on your walks. You can also download scavenger hunts that for kids that you can take on any walk.
There are other opportunities for you to get outdoors and take walks in Rhode Island’s special places! We will continue to post land trusts’ walks and events on the Land Trust Days Facebook Page and MeetUp group. You can also watch short Feature Trail Videos for ideas of great trails to explore!
