Initially, the Preserve functioned as a fish hatchery, but that is no longer in operation. The hatchery and the plants of the Preserve will be the focus of our hike from 10:00 AM to noon on Saturday, October 8. What could be better than a walk in a New England forest and former fish hatchery in the middle of fall?<\/p>\n<p>Cancelled if weather is inclement. An email will be sent to those who RSVP&#8217;d in the event of cancellation.<\/p>\n<p><em>With birds as a focus on this hike, we ask that you leave dogs at home.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Mill Pond Preserve is located on Route 2 (Charlestown, RI), just north of the Route 1 intersection. Going north it is the first driveway on the right after the entrance to Norton Supply. Look for signs.
