These projects were implemented to improve the water quality of Narragansett Bay and reduce the frequency of beach closures.<\/p>\n<p class=\"kvgmc6g5 cxmmr5t8 oygrvhab hcukyx3x c1et5uql\">Led by Walter Burke &#8211; Acting\/Former longtime Director of Parks and Recreation for the Town of Bristol &#8211; guests will be treated to a lively discussion and tour of an award-winning series of eco-friendly projects at the Town Beach and Sports Complex. Through ingenuity and perseverance Mr. Burke was able to acquire several grants to piece together what now has made the Town Beach both an attractive and eco-friendly recreational destination.<\/p>\n<p class=\"kvgmc6g5 cxmmr5t8 oygrvhab hcukyx3x c1et5uql\">Participants will meet at the Bristol Town Beach Pavilion (50 Asylum Road) for a short introduction to the area. During the tour numerous trees will be highlighted that have made this area so appealing.<\/p>\n<p class=\"kvgmc6g5 cxmmr5t8 oygrvhab hcukyx3x c1et5uql\"><em>Should weather be inclement, guests will meet at the nearby Quinta-Gamelin Community Center at 101 Asylum Road for a talk and PowerPoint presentation.<\/em><\/p>\n<p class=\"kvgmc6g5 cxmmr5t8 oygrvhab hcukyx3x c1et5uql\">The BLCT welcomes new members. Annual dues are $25 for an individual and $40 per family.
