An easy hike will be followed by a slide presentation and talk on the best hikes in Rhode Island. Bring a lawn chair if staying for the talk and question and answer session. Leashed dogs welcome. \nDirections: Traveling north on I295 take exit 6 Right off exit. (From I295 south Left off exit 6) Left Comstock pkwy. Right on Route 12. Follow across the bridge over the reservoir dam. Continue on Route 12 to 102/14 (Plainfield Pike) intersection and go left. Take the 2nd left on Field Hill Rd. Take a right on George Washington Hwy by Clayville Elementary Scool. Wesconnaug Meadows will be on the left. There is a parking lot on the left or on street parking.

DESCRIPTION:Location: Scituate\nJoin the Scituate Land Trust and the Gentian Garden Club on this quiet wooded walk at Westconnaug Meadows and test your knowledge of a variety of tree species: white pine\, gray birch\, oak\, and chestnut\, among others. The property\, owned by the Scituate Land Trust\, offers a short trail that is just over a mile long. This trail has been called one of the most peaceful\, serene\, and quiet hikes in Rhode Island! It is a good hike for beginners and children. \nAll participants must wear a face covering. Be sure to wear comfortable walking/hiking shoes and bring bug spray. This event is FREE and suitable for all ages. Leashed dogs welcomed. \nSevere weather will cancel this event. Updates regarding weather will be posted to this Meetup event. \n*NOTE: This event will be limited to 15 attendees to allow for adequate distancing during the walk. It is a good idea to wear some orange (or another bright color). \nThis walk will be canceled in the case of heavy rain and/or thunderstorms.
