DESCRIPTION:Location: Middletown\nSpace is limited & pre-registration is required on Eventbrite: https://www.eventbrite.com/e/bird-banding-walk-talk-tickets-170199959661 \nJoin Aquidneck Land Trust to learn about migratory bird research at this special Walk & Talk at Bailey Brook in Middletown! \nThis free tour and bird banding demonstration will be led by Aquidneck Land Trust former Board Chair and Salve Regina professor Jim Chace. We will walk together to the mobile bird banding station and see what Jim catches! \nBailey Brook is a primary source of drinking water for Middletown and Newport residents\, and serves as habitat for several migratory bird species. The Aquidneck Land Trust worked in partnership with the Town of Middletown to preserve the parcel of land buffering Bailey Brook. \nParking is limited so please carpool.\nIf vaccinated\, no masks are required. If you are unvaccinated\, please wear a mask. \nRain Date: None. Rain/thunderstorms may cancel this event. Updates will be shared to those who have registered via Eventbrite. \nQuestions? The Sweet Flag property buffers Bailey Brook and was protected by ALT in 2006. Jim will be catching and banding migrant and resident songbird species.
