DESCRIPTION:Location: Scituate\nJoin the Scituate Land Trust and Rhode Island Land Trust Council for an evening walk at Lawton Farm to kick off Land Trust Days 2021! \nCome experience Rhode Island’s natural beauty as Scituate Land Trust members guide you through this prize conservation area near the Scituate Reservoir! Together we will cross the footbridge on a leisurely walk on the perimeter trail around the fields and a brief loop through the woods. \nManaged primarily as a grassland bird sanctuary\, Lawton Farm has improved the signage and stream crossings through a Department of Environmental Management grant. The annual bird count consistently tracks nearly 40 species of birds! \nThe evening begins with an introduction at 5:30 p.m. The walk starts at 6:00 p.m. We will be walking for about 40 minutes at a moderate pace\, so be sure to wear comfortable walking shoes and bring bug spray. \nThis event is FREE and suitable for all ages.
