DESCRIPTION:The Rhode Island Land Trust Council is posting this event on behalf of the South Kingstown Land Trust. For this event\, SKLT requires that you register directly with them. Please register here. \nExplore the diverse habitats at Crawley Preserve as the fall foliage starts to take its hold on the forest. You’ll be on the lookout for migratory birds and other wildlife as well as interesting trees\, plants\, and other features of the landscape. This hike is part of RI Land Trust Council’s “Land Trust Days” so come celebrate at a beautiful trail shared between SKLT and the Richmond Rural Preservation Land Trust! \nInclement weather cancels. No dogs allowed on guided hikes. \nDirections\nFrom the South: take either Route 2 or Route 110 (Ministerial Road) to Route 138. Make a left onto Route 138 and continue 2 miles from Route 2 or 3.3 miles from Route 110 to Old Usquepaugh Road. Turn right onto Old Usquepaugh Road and continue 0.1 mile\, passing a stone dam on the right\, then bear right onto Glen Rock Road. Continue 0.3 mile to the parking area on left. \nFrom the North: take Route 2 to Route 138. Turn right on Route 138 and proceed per directions above.

SUMMARY:Volunteer Day with Richmond Rural Preservation Land Trust
DESCRIPTION:Join the Richmond Rural Preservation Land Trust for a volunteer day! Volunteers will be cutting back overgrowth on trails at the Crawley Preserve. Tools will be provided\, but volunteers should plan to bring work gloves\, hats\, and other sun protection. Members of the land trust’s stewardship committee\, Rob Swanson and Rick Anderson\, will be leading the work. \nDirections: From Rt. 138\, Kingstown Road\, in South Kingstown\, head north onto Old Usquepaugh Road. After the you pass the Kenyon Grist Mill\, this road turns into Glen Rock Road. The trailhead is 0.3 miles from here\, on the left (west). It is a dirt drive that leads into a small parking area.

DESCRIPTION:Location: South Kingston\nJoin the South Kingstown Land Trust for their August 3rd Thursday hike at Crawley Preserve! \nThe trails at Crawley Preserve pass though a beautiful upland forest of beech\, oak and the occasional white pine. There are three well-marked and well-maintained trails on 99 acres straddling two towns: Richmond and South Kingstown\, with most of the property (84.2 acres) in Richmond. The Preserve was acquired in 2003 as a joint project of the Richmond Rural Land Conservation Trust and South Kingston Land Trust and funded by the Town of South Kingstown and The Nature Conservancy. \nFor more information about Crawley Preserve or to find trail maps\, please visit: http://www.sklt.org/land-we-protect/trail-maps/. \nThis event is free and suitable for all ages. DESCRIPTION:Location: Richmond\nJoin the Richmond Rural Preservation Land Trust for an evening hike at the Crawley Preserve.\nThe Crawley Preserve\, on the South Kingstown/Richmond border\, is a pleasant 100-acre property home to streams\, historic foundations and stone walls\, and stands of hickory\, American beech\, and oak trees.\nThe evening hike will last about an hour and includes some hilly terrain. Please dress according to the weather and bring a flashlight or headlamp. RSVP soon to reserve your spot as this hike is limited to 25 people. There is no restroom on site and the trail is not ADA accessible. Children are welcome\, no pets\, please.
