Please register here. \nStep back in time on a 3.5-mile guided hike through the historic Browning Woods Farm. Along the way\, you’ll pass old stone walls and farm foundations\, while keeping an eye out for wildlife tracks\, unique trees\, and the beauty of the forest coming back to life. The trail is packed earth and mostly easy walking\, with just a few gentle hills. \nThis walk is free\, but registration is required as space is limited. Inclement weather will cancel. \nAll ages are welcome. Please bring binoculars and wear sturdy boots. Sorry\, no dogs allowed.

Please register here. \nCome join the Rhode Island Mycological Society in conjunction with the South Kingstown Land trust for a Mushroom Foray! \nBring water\, comfortable hiking shoes\, bug spray\, a basket/something to collect fungi with\, and your adventurous spirit! \nWe will meet at the Browning Woods trailhead for 10AM before heading into the woods to find and collect fungi for about an hour. Then we will head back to the ID table to identify and document our findings. \nPlease carpool if possible as the parking lot is not very large.\nChildren are always welcome but please NO DOGS.\nPlease be aware that this is not a foraging walk and we are not collecting mushrooms to eat them! This is to document species and to discuss their ecology.

DESCRIPTION:Location: South Kingston\nJoin the South Kingstown Land Trust for an all ages hike at Browning Woods Trail through pine and oak forest and past some amazing stone walls! \nThis monthly hike on first Saturdays is part of a new Park Rx initiative in which healthcare providers in South County are joining a national movement to “prescribe” taking walks and spending time in nature for better physical and mental health! \nWe will hike about 3 miles\, though you can shorten your outing to about 1 mile if desired. DESCRIPTION:Location: South Kingstown\nSouth Kingstown Land Trust invites you to a monthly healthy hike at Browning Woods. There’s increasing evidence that spending time outdoors in nature and walking are both good for your physical and mental health. That’s why more health care providers are ‘prescribing’ taking a walk in nature as part of their patients’ health care treatment plans. We call it ParkRx. You don’t have to wait for your doctor to write a prescription. Join us for a ParkRx walk on the 1st Saturday of every month. This free guided walk begins at 10:00 am promptly at the trailhead sign.
