FULL – Stalking the Wild Mushroom

October 13, 2018 @ 10:00 am - 11:30 am

**THIS EVENT IS FULL. REGISTRATIONS ARE NO LONGER ACCEPTED.**

Location: Foster

Come to Borders Farm for a guided mushroom hunting walk, led by Ryan Bouchard and Emily Schmidt of the Mushroom Hunting Foundation. Ryan and Emily, as seen in Providence Monthly, Rhode Island Monthly and EcoRI News, are the premiere wild mushroom experts in southern New England, regularly conducting walks and talks for libraries, land trusts and other community organizations. They will lead a trek around the historic Borders Farm property to identify and gather edible fungi.

Pre-Registration Required
Ryan and Emily will conduct two sessions, one at 10:00 am and the second at 12:30 pm. Each session will last 1-1/2 hours. Cost is $10.00 per person, pre-registration is required and enrollment is limited. To register, email 2bordersfarm2@gmail.com. Free farmhouse tours for the public will also be offered that day at 10:00 am, 11:00 am and 12:00 pm. Workshop participants are welcome to tour the farmhouse before or after each session.

Preserving the Past for the Future
Borders Farm was settled by the Phillips Family in the 1760’s and then purchased by the Borders family almost 100 years ago. The farm, which is on the National Historic Register, encompasses over two hundred acres on both sides of North Road in Foster. Today, Borders Farm Preservation, Inc. and Borders Farm, Inc. keep alive Charles and Margery Borders’ dream to preserve their property as a working farm, museum and agricultural education center for the public. For more information, visit the Borders Farm website at www.bordersfarm.org.

Borders Farm is located at 31 North Rd, Foster, RI.
