DESCRIPTION:Location: Scituate\nJoin the Scituate Land Trust and the Gentian Garden Club on this quiet wooded walk at Westconnaug Meadows and test your knowledge of a variety of tree species: white pine\, gray birch\, oak\, and chestnut\, among others. The property\, owned by the Scituate Land Trust\, offers a short trail that is just over a mile long. This trail has been called one of the most peaceful\, serene\, and quiet hikes in Rhode Island! It is a good hike for beginners and children. \nAll participants must wear a face covering. Be sure to wear comfortable walking/hiking shoes and bring bug spray. September’s hike will be on Weeden Farm\, which is located on a glacial outwash plain. \nThis easy-to-walk 1.6 mile trail features pastoral views of stone walls and fields actively cultivated for hay and corn. Visitors also may enjoy views of fields managed for wildlife habitat and a large grove of larch trees. \nWear a face covering\, comfortable walking shoes\, sunblock & bug spray.
