Please register here. \nLearn more about birds by observing bird banding\, where experts capture\, band\, measure\, and release songbirds. Birds will be gently removed from tall “mist nets” set in Audubon’s shrubby habitats. The techniques of identifying\, measuring\, weighing\, and banding the birds will be demonstrated before they are released. The migratory habits and life history of each captured species will be discussed. Bring a camera and binoculars. DESCRIPTION:Explore Hicks Farm in northern Tiverton! The Land Trust and the Town are raising funds to preserve 48.8 acres of field\, forest\, and shore\, all for public access. TLT is hosting walks on the following Saturdays in October: 4\, 18\, and 25\, from 9:00am – 10:30am. \nParking: The Sign Shop & Awnings has generously agreed to let us use their parking lot in FRONT of the building. The address is 454 Main Rd\, Tiverton\, RI 02878. We will leave the parking lot to begin the group walk promptly at 9:05 am. \nCome Prepared: Please dress accordingly\, wear comfortable shoes and bring water. Wearing long pants tucked into socks and applying insect repellent is encouraged.
