SUMMARY:Hunts Mills - Historic Tour of the Grounds
DESCRIPTION:The East Providence Conservation Commission will be leading guided walks of the grounds at Hunts Mills to coincide with the East Providence Historical Society’s monthly open house. \nThe walks will be held at 12 PM every second Sunday of each month. This is an easy and relaxed paced walk of approximately 1 mile on wooded trails that is good for beginners and kids. The grounds have plenty of history dating over centuries. We will stop several times and discuss the history of the property as well as the Ten Mile River. \nMeet in the parking lot by John Hunt House. The John Hunt House\, a museum of East Providence history\, will open at 1:00 PM following the hike.

Please register here. \nExperience the late summer beauty of Osamequin Nature Preserve with a guided walk on Sunday\, Sept. 14\, at 1 pm. The walk will be led by Kathryn Beauchamp from the Barrington Garden Club\, which co-stewards the property with the Barrington Land Conservation Trust and the Town of Barrington. \nDress for the weather and bring your camera. All ages are welcome. The walk will last about an hour over moderate terrain\, some of which may be wet. Please leave dogs at home. \nOsamequin Nature Preserve is a 42-acre property located on the Wampanoag Trail\, bordering Hundred Acre Cove in Barrington\, RI.
