DESCRIPTION:Registration required. Please register by calling the library at 401-647-5133 or emailing leah@scituatelibrary.org. \nDeana Thomas from the Rhode Island Mycological Society will be leading a series of educational mushroom walks\, in partnership with the Scituate Land Trust) and the North Scituate Public Library! Learn about the hidden world of fungi from an expert in the field. \nThere are many beautiful fungi of diverse shapes\, colors\, and lifestyles that live right here in Rhode Island\, but it is easy to walk past them unless you know where to look! We’ll learn how to identify mushrooms and about their vital role in our ecosystem – which goes far beyond being food sources or objects of curiosity. \nComfortable shoes\, bug repellent and water is advised. These will be estimated 1-mile-long\, 2-hr walks. \nRegistration required. Please call the library at 401-647-5133 or email leah@scituatelibrary.org to register.
