SUMMARY:Watercolor Workshop at Casey Farm
DESCRIPTION:Registration required — see link below. \nLet your creativity flow inspired by Casey Farm\, a beautiful seaside farm with 300 acres of coastal organic farmland\, gardens\, and woodlands\, managed by Historic New England. This full-day of plein air watercolor painting will be led by artist Vicki Iannuccillo. \nAfter a one-hour demonstration of landscape painting\, set up your materials and capture the many facets of the farm buildings\, grazing animals\, stone walls\, and gardens on the grounds. Vicki can offer guidance on composition\, lighting\, and painting techniques. \nPlease bring painting materials (suggested list will be supplied) and a bag lunch\, but leave all pets at home. Open to all levels of experience including beginners. In the event of rain\, the workshop will move inside the barn. \nRegister here. Price: $30 for members\, $45 for non-members. \nDirections: Take I-95 to Route 4 south to Route 138 east (Newport/Jamestown exit). Turn right onto Route 1A before the Jamestown Bridge. The farm is one mile on the right. From Newport\, take Route 138 west to the Narragansett exit. Turn right onto Route 1A. The farm is one mile on the right. Park in the large lot adjacent to Boston Neck Road.

DESCRIPTION:Due to weather\, this event has been rescheduled from September 30th to October 1st. Registration required. Please register by emailing hopkintonlandtrust@gmail.com. \nCome join the Hopkinton Land Trust for a walk & talk about forest health at Crown Farm Preserve. We will discuss forest health matters such as invasive species\, beneficials and climate with trustee and entomologist Alana Russell. The walk will take about an hour and will follow the north-south trails loop. Come prepared with any questions or bring photos of any insects you would like to learn about. There will be an opportunity to view archaeological features on this property as well.
