SUMMARY:Volunteer Day with Richmond Rural Preservation Land Trust
DESCRIPTION:Join the Richmond Rural Preservation Land Trust for a volunteer day! Volunteers will be cutting back overgrowth on trails at the Crawley Preserve. Tools will be provided\, but volunteers should plan to bring work gloves\, hats\, and other sun protection. Members of the land trust’s stewardship committee\, Rob Swanson and Rick Anderson\, will be leading the work. \nDirections: From Rt. 138\, Kingstown Road\, in South Kingstown\, head north onto Old Usquepaugh Road. After the you pass the Kenyon Grist Mill\, this road turns into Glen Rock Road. The trailhead is 0.3 miles from here\, on the left (west). It is a dirt drive that leads into a small parking area.

Please register here. \nJoin The Watch Hill Conservancy for an exciting educational program celebrating a decade of stewardship in the beautiful Napatree Point Conservation Area. Led by Napatree Science Advisors\, Dr. Peter August and Alan Desbonett\, this guided tour offers a unique opportunity to discover the connection between Little Narragansett Bay and Napatree. \nLasting approximately 90 minutes\, this program will involve a leisurely walk of about 2 miles on sandy terrain. This program is designed for individuals aged 15 and older\, and participants under 18 must be accompanied by an adult. No dogs. \nParking for this program is available throughout the village of Watch Hill. \nThe Napatree Scientific Stroll program showcases 10 years of monitoring and stewardship efforts in The Napatree Point Conservation Area. The land trust will conduct a guided tour of the Fry Pond Trail\, and there will be lawn games\, an ice cream truck and raffle baskets to benefit the West Greenwich Land Trust. \nJoin us behind the West Greenwich Town Hall at the pavilion and playground. The Fry Pond Trail is located just behind the pavilion. \nThis is a free event. Restrooms are available. SUMMARY:Guided Trail Walk with North Smithfield Land Trust
DESCRIPTION:The North Smithfield Land Trust will offer a guided walk of the Booth Pond Conservation Area. The conservation area totals 130 acres and includes the pond\, surrounding wetlands and upland forest. \nThe first half of the walk to see the pond is of moderate difficulty\, and for those not interested in continuing further\, we will return to the trailhead. The second half of the walk has some sections of challenging uphill/downhill terrain and a walking stick may be helpful. There is a scenic overview of the surrounding area at a lookout point at the higher elevation. \nPlease wear comfortable hiking shoes and bring bug spray and water. The event is free and suitable for all ages! \nNo registration necessary. Rain or shine. \nMeeting Place/Directions: Trailhead is located within the Dowling Village Shopping Center. Park near the ALDI store\, and walk down toward The Club apartment complex (2 Booth Pond Way). Green trailhead sign will be on your right.
