DESCRIPTION:***See registration instructions below!*** \nJoin an Audubon naturalist for an early morning bird walk at the historic Hunts Mills property in East Providence. Located along the Ten Mile River\, this lovely park has big trees\, gardens and a nature trail. We will look for resident and migrating songbirds\, as well as water birds in the river. Bring binoculars and wear sturdy walking shoes. Extra binoculars will be available. \nAdvance registration required. Walks are weather dependent. This is a collaborative effort between Audubon Society of Rhode Island\, East Providence Historical Society and the Blackstone Valley Tourism Council. SUMMARY:Napatree Point Family Beach Exploration
DESCRIPTION:***See registration instructions below!*** \nThe Watch Hill Conservancy is excited to host a FREE Family Beach Exploration program at 1:00 pm on Sunday\, September 18th\, 2022\, in the Napatree Point Conservation Area. Participants will join a Napatree Naturalist to learn about the different organisms found along the shores of Napatree. Participants will also assist with seine net sampling to discover the species found in Little Narragansett Bay. \nOpen to all ages and limited to 25 participants. Participants under the age of 18 must be accompanied by an adult. Participants should be prepared to walk about 1 mile on the beach\, get their feet wet\, and clothing dirty. Light rain will not cancel this event\, but a downpour will. Participants will receive an email the morning of the event if the event is canceled. \nThis program will leave from the Napatree Point Conservation Area entrance. \nREGISTER ON EVENTBRITE HERE! \nWe ask that you do not bring your dog to while attending the Family Beach Exploration Program. More information about visiting Napatree can be found here. \nParking: Napatree Point Conservation Area does not have its own designated parking facilities. Watch Hill Village is a small\, popular seaside community with a handful of parking options for visitors. DESCRIPTION:***See registration instructions below!*** \nJoin the Charlestown Land Trust for a social paddle on eastern Quonochontaug Pond. Catch a glimpse of CLT properties you wouldn’t otherwise see\, including a parcel with a salt marsh habitat restoration project overseen by our partners at Save the Bay. The fun will continue afterwards at the Haversham for a drink (not included) and the opportunity to learn more about CLT. \nFollow West Beach Rd\, Charlestown\, to the end. Boat launch and parking there. \nAdditional details: \n\nPaddlers are expected to bring their own gear (kayak or paddleboard)\, including a PFD which must be worn during the paddle.\nParticipants must complete a waiver at time of paddle.\nThis event is weather dependent. If the event is cancelled due to inclement weather\, participants will receive notice\n\nRegistration REQUIRED and will be capped at 20. Reserve your spot here!
