DESCRIPTION:Location: Barrington\nLand Trust Days: THANKSGIVING EDITION \nJoin the Barrington Land Conservation Trust to OptOutside this year and spend time with family and friends at Johannis Farm Wildlife Preserve! \nJohannis is a beautiful\, 32-acre wildlife preserve located on the Palmer River in Barrington. The preserve will be open from 10:00am-12:00pm\, you can arrive at anytime during these hours and walk the preserve at your own pace (this will not be a guided walk). \nAn RSVP is required to attend. Please send your name and the number of attendees to education@blct.org \nThe walk is approximately 30 minutes over wet and moderate terrain. Wear boots! This event is FREE and suitable for all ages. Leashed dogs welcome. \nSevere weather cancels the event. There is no rain date. Updates will be shared on the Facebook & Meetup event pages. \nQuestions? It consists of 148 acres of woodland\, rocky ridges and freshwater wetlands adjacent to the Pawcatuck River and the Boy Scout Camp. It has interesting quarry remnants\, river views and descent through a beautiful gorge. Some climbing in rocky areas may be involved as the best views are from the higher elevations! \nThis event is FREE and suitable for all ages. DESCRIPTION:Location: Burrillville\nLand Trust Days: THANKSGIVING EDITION \nJoin the Burrillville Land Trust for a post-Thanksgiving walk in the woods… and then grab a beer afterward! \nWalk the woods that Ed Vock walked. See trees\, shrubs\, birds\, talk about the American Chestnut. See one of a kind glacial erratics from Canada and cross streams and brooks. And then go have some craft beer at a local brewery in beautiful downtown Pascoag\, RI. \nHear the voices of Paul\, and Don\, and Doris\, and others as we tell stories\, share news and generally have a good time. This is a fun walk with time to stay still and listen. And\, if we are really nice\, we will get a visit from our very own Pokémon woodland creature. Add our creature to your list of others in the RIWalks creature find contest. \nWalk: Start – 3:00pm End – 4:30pm. Beer: 5pm \nBe sure to wear comfortable walking shoes and bring bug spray and water.
