DESCRIPTION:Location: Charlestown\nThis FREE event has limited capacity. REGISTRATION IS REQUIRED BY EMAILING angela@charlestownlandtrust.org. \nJoin naturalist Paul Miller for a walk at Charlestown Land Trust‘s Mill Pond Preserve to look for migrating birds. Late September/early October is the height of the annual fall migration in southern New England. \nWe’ll explore the diverse habitats at this wonderful conservation property to see as many bird species as we can. Migration is hit or miss\, so we will either have a slow morning with some local resident birds\, or we could experience a busy morning with lots of migrants that arrived the night before who will be busy feeding to refuel for the next part of their journey south for the winter. Let’s find out\, see you there! \nBe sure to wear comfortable walking shoes and bring bug spray and water. This event is FREE and suitable for all ages! Attendees are asked to leave their dogs at home for this walk\, as quiet is necessary for bird spotting. \nRain Date: None. Purchase a ticket in advance HERE: https://wrwc.org/wp/events/connors-farm-hike-10-09-21/ \nJoin Woonasquatucket River Watershed Council for an autumn morning hike at Connors Farm Conservation Area! \nLocated in Smithfield RI\, Connors Farm is a 2.9 mile loop trail that passes by cranberry bogs\, small brooks and ponds and features a picnic area at the top of a look-out spot. A variety of local wildlife including turtles\, deer\, frog\, rabbits\, foxes\, hawks\, and many other species of birds call this area home and can be spotted by observant hikers. \nSome steep inclines and rocky terrain give this\, approximately two-hour\, hike a moderate level of difficulty. \nBe sure to wear comfortable walking shoes and bring bug spray and water. \nFollowing state guidelines for COVID-19:\n-Participants are required to pre-register for this walk (15 person limit)\n-Stay home if you’re sick\n-Bring/wear a mask\n-Maintain 6 foot distance from other participants \nRain Date: None. DESCRIPTION:Location: Tiverton\nJoin long time Tiverton Land Trust member Jim Spears for a lovely autumn walk at Basket Swamp Preserve – one of Tiverton’s little known open space gems! \nWe will walk the entire 1.3 mile trail system in this 96 acre property. The trails are mostly level with minor ups and downs\, roots and rocks. We will pass through wooded areas\, across a grassy strip\, and back into wooded areas.
