DESCRIPTION:Location: Bristol\nJoin the Bristol Land Conservation Trust for a full moonrise walk at Mount Hope Farm! The view from the big field on a clear evening is amazing– you don’t want to miss it. \nThere will be a brief Welcome & Introduction before we start off in one or two groups. Every moonrise walk is different with always some fun surprises. We may hear an owl or two\, see a shooting star\, see the International Space Station pass over\, see a planet\, or experience a beautiful sunset. The list goes on. The walk back is under the light of the silvery moon! The reflection of moonlight on the water is calm and the duck pond is spectacular. \nWe will meet at the main parking lot below the barn and walk approximately one mile to the Cove Cabin to view the rising full harvest moon over Mount Hope Bay. \nDress appropriately\, wear comfortable shoes for walking\, and a bring camera or binoculars\, a flashlight. and insect repellent. Pets are not permitted at Mount Hope Farm. \nCost: $10 per person\, $20 per family. (Cash or check only.) \nRain Date: Tuesday\, September 21. Registration is required via this link: https://sklt.org/event-tickets/guided-hikes/ \nJoin South Kingstown Land Trust to celebrate RI Land Trust Days with a walk in the moonlight! \nIn the days before tractor lights\, the full Harvest Moon in September helped farmers to gather their crops despite the diminishing daylight hours. We’ll use the beautiful glow of September’s Harvest Moon to illuminate the trails beside Weeden Farm’s thriving agricultural fields on a special guided hike at twilight. \nWe’ll discuss the history of Weeden Farm\, listen for owls and other nocturnal wildlife\, and more. \nGuests are encouraged to enjoy the campfire and bring their own s’mores ingredients or other snacks to enjoy. \nBe sure to wear comfortable walking shoes and bring bug spray and water. \nFree for Members\, $10 Suggested Donation for Non-members. \nRain Date: None.
