DESCRIPTION:Location: Cumberland\nJoin the Cumberland Land Trust on the Friday following Thanksgiving for a guided walk in Mercy Woods! \nWalk off all that turkey & pumpkin pie as representatives of the Land Trust guide the group past wetlands and through the woods. Take in the view of Cumberland Reservoir from rocky ridges and enjoy the early 18th century agricultural setting\, complete with stone walls and rock piles! \nThe walk will be 2.5 miles over moderate terrain. This event is free and suitable for ages 6 and up. Be sure to dress for the weather & wear comfortable walking shoes. There are no restroom facilities on site. \nIn the event of inclement weather\, this walk at Mercy Woods may be canceled or rescheduled. SUMMARY:Walk Your Turkey Off at Neutaconkanut Hill
DESCRIPTION:Location: Providence\nJoin the Neutaconkanut Hill Conservancy for a late autumn walk the day after Thanksgiving! Neutaconkanut Hill is the highest point in Providence — enjoy beautiful views of the city before the last few leaves fall off the trees! \nBe sure to dress for the day’s weather – wear comfortable walking or hiking shoes. This walk is suitable for all ages. Little ones must be accompanied by an adult or guardian. Dogs on a leash are also welcomed. Insect repellent is recommended year round as a precaution against ticks which carry Lyme Disease. There are no public restrooms on site. \nThis walk is FREE and open to the public. Donations are welcomed to help support these events and the work of the Conservancy. No advance reservations are required. \nQuestions? Any cancellations will be posted on the Neutaconkanut Hill Conservancy Facebook page and the Facebook & Meetup event pages by Wednesday\, November 27th. DESCRIPTION:Location: Bradford Village\, Westerly\nIt’s the Friday after Thanksgiving and all of the food has been eaten – what is there to do next? How about a walk with Westerly Land Trust at Grills Preserve? \nThis walk on WLT’s 500-acre preserve is over primarily flat terrain often along the Pawcatuck River on clear\, wide trails. There is a gorgeous scenic view from the top of aptly named\, Big Hill\, which requires a bit of steep climbing. \nInclement weather cancels this walk. If in doubt\, contact walk leader or check the Facebook or Meetup event for updates. \n*RSVP is required as spots for this event are limited!
