SUMMARY:Neutaconkanut Hill October Monthly Guided Hike
DESCRIPTION:Location: Providence\nAs part of RI Land Trust Days\, Neutaconkanut Hill Conservancy and the Providence Parks Department along with the Blackstone Heritage Corridor and the RI Land Trust Council invite you to this 1st Saturday of the month guided hike at Neutaconkanut Hill! Come see the natural evidence of the change of seasons firsthand. \nDress for the day’s weather – be sure to wear comfortable walking or hiking shoes. This walk is suitable for all ages. Little ones must be accompanied by an adult or guardian. Dogs on a leash are also welcomed. Insect repellent is recommended year round as a precaution against ticks which carry Lyme Disease. There are no public restrooms on site. \nThis walk is free and open to the public. Donations are welcomed to help support these events and the work of the Conservancy. No advance reservations are required. \nQuestions? Any cancellations will be posted on the NHC Facebook page on the Friday\, the day before hike. \nDirections: Meet at 120 Killingly Street\, Providence RI 02909 at the NHC Map Kiosk. There is ample parking at baseball field parking lot.

DESCRIPTION:Location: Warren\nJoin The Warren Land Conservation Trust and longtime Rhode Island Wild Plant Society member and naturalist Garry Plunkett for a guided walk through the varied habitats of Haile Farm Preserve\, including 60 acres of salt marsh\, meadow and forest along the Palmer River! \nGarry\, a steward of Tiverton’s preserved forests for 25 years\, will show us how to identify some of the stars of the tidal marshland\, the red maple swamp\, and the oak/beech forest. Learn to recognize the preserve’s tree species\, the various ferns carpeting the forest floor\, and so much more! The vistas from the marsh are spectacular\, the bird life varied – and grasses and leaves will be turning color. \nThis event is free and suitable for all ages. Leashed dogs welcome. DESCRIPTION:Location: Pascoag\nJoin the Burrillville Land Trust for a walk in the woods followed by beer tasting and pizza at George’s Pizza! \nThe Edward D. Vock Conservation Area was designated as Rhode Island Tree Farm number 5 by then Governor Pastore on September 16\, 1949 making this land one of the oldest designated Tree Farms in Rhode Island! \nThe walk will begin at 3pm and is a 1.5 mile moderate walk over a hill and water ways showcasing one of Burrillville’s greatest landscapes. After the hike\, we will drive to George’s Pizza in Pascoag for beer tasting and pizza at 4:30pm. \nThis event costs $10. Call (401) 447-1560 to register ahead of time.
