DESCRIPTION:Location: Middletown\nJoin the Aquidneck Land Trust for a bird banding demonstration at Bailey Brook with ecology professor Dr. Jim Chace of Salve Regina University! \nBailey Brook is a primary source of drinking water for Middletown and Newport residents and serves as a habitat for several migratory bird species. The Sweet Flag property buffers Bailey Brook and was protected by ALT in 2006. Jim will be catching and banding migrant and resident songbird species. DESCRIPTION:Location: Jamestown\nJoin Historic New England and herbalist Kristin Minto for a walking tour of historic seaside Watson Farm where native wild plants and cultivated plants flourish! \nDiscover plants that can help relieve common ailments and promote well-being\, learn simple techniques for using herbs in your daily life\, and prepare samples to take home. \nDress in comfortable shoes for this easy walk of less than 1/2 mile. This workshop will take place rain or shine\, so wear weatherproof layers. We will provide tents for shelter. This workshop is suitable for adults and teens. Admission is $25 per person\, or $20 for Historic New England members. \nDirections: Take Route 138 east across Jamestown Bridge. Take Helm St. exit. Turn right onto North Road.
