DESCRIPTION:Location: South Kingston\nJoin the South Kingstown Land Trust for an all ages hike at Browning Woods Trail through pine and oak forest and past some amazing stone walls! \nThis monthly hike on first Saturdays is part of a new Park Rx initiative in which healthcare providers in South County are joining a national movement to “prescribe” taking walks and spending time in nature for better physical and mental health! \nWe will hike about 3 miles\, though you can shorten your outing to about 1 mile if desired. For more information about Browning Woods or to find trail maps\, please visit: http://www.sklt.org/land-we-protect/trail-maps/. \nThis event is free and suitable for all ages. Kids and leashed dogs welcome. Be sure to wear comfortable walking shoes! In the event of rain\, check the South Kingstown Land Trust Facebook Page for updates. \nQuestions? SUMMARY:Neutaconkanut Hill September Monthly Guided Hike
DESCRIPTION:Location: Providence\nAs part of RI Land Trust Days and Blackstone Go!\, Neutaconkanut Hill Conservancy and the Providence Parks Department along with the Blackstone Heritage Corridor and the RI Land Trust Council invite you to this 1st Saturday of the month guided hike at Neutaconkanut Hill! Come see the natural evidence of the change of seasons firsthand. \nDress for the day’s weather – be sure to wear comfortable walking or hiking shoes. This walk is suitable for all ages. Little ones must be accompanied by an adult or guardian. Dogs on a leash are also welcomed. Insect repellent is recommended year round as a precaution against ticks which carry Lyme Disease. There are no public restrooms on site. \nThis walk is free and open to the public. Donations are welcomed to help support these events and the work of the Conservancy. No advance reservations are required. \nQuestions? Any cancellations will be posted on the NHC Facebook page on the Friday\, the day before hike. \nDirections: Meet at 120 Killingly Street\, Providence RI 02909 at the NHC Map Kiosk. There is ample parking at baseball field parking lot.

Razor-sharp talons\, extraordinary strength\, hooked beaks and highly developed eyesight and hearing make raptors the rulers of the avian world. \nThis September they will be descending on the Audubon Society of Rhode Island’s Nature Center and Aquarium in Bristol\, Rhode Island for Raptor Weekend 2019. Wildlife rehabilitators and experts from across the Northeast will bring a wide variety of these extraordinary birds to the largest raptor celebration in New England.
