DESCRIPTION:Location: East Providence\nJoin the East Providence Conservation Commission for a lovely Saturday morning walk in August! \nThis will be a 2 mile walk that visits a small conservation area before coming out to the East Bay Bike Path\, which we will follow to visit 3 coastal coves. This will be a great opportunity to spot all sorts of birds — so bring your camera! \nThe walk is easy as most of it is on the bike path. Wear comfortable shoes and bring plenty of water. We will walk a relaxed pace. This event is FREE & open to the public\, Kid-friendly and dogs welcomed! \n* This event will be canceled in the case of heavy rain and/or thunderstorms. SUMMARY:Miantonomi Open Tower Days
DESCRIPTION:Location: Newport\nJoin the Newport Open Space Partnership to climb to the top of Miantonomi Tower and enjoy the view from the highest point on the island! \n\n\nThe tower sits in Miantonomi Park\, which is conserved by Aquidneck Land Trust and is the largest city-owned park in Newport. The park features nature trails\, picnic areas\, and a playground. The tower\, completed in 1929\, was designed by the renowned architectural firm of McKim\, Mead & White. \nThe historic tower will be open for FREE every Saturday from 11 am – 2 pm from June 15 through August. \nDirections and Parking: 120 Hillside Ave\, Newport\, RI 02840. A path from the parking lot leads to the tower.
